Summary

Mitsumine shrine is a shrine located in the mountain area in Chichibu city, Saitama prefecture, 1102m above sea level.

It is told that Yamato Takeru founded the shrine and is known for the unique cult of wolves, which helped him on his way to the eatern land, as a "Yama-no-kami". These spirits are believed to be a guardian against fire or theft, and this belief spreaded to other regions during the Edo period.

It is one of the "Chichibu-sansha", three major shrines of the Chichibu area, along with Chichibu shrine and Hodosan shrine. Recently, Mitsumine shrine is known to be a "Power-spot", places with spiritual energy, with the strongest power in the Kanto area. It is also famous for the white "Ki" charm distributed only on the first day of the month.
